The Sharing Shed

At Annville Church of the Brethren, we believe that small acts of service make a big difference. That’s why we’re excited to offer The Sharing Shed—a collection of free gardening supplies and other donated items available to anyone committed to using them to improve our community. Whether you're planting a community garden, helping a neighbor, beautifying a local space, or creating a shared place of peace and nourishment, we want to support you.

There’s only one catch! The items must not be resold, instead they must be used in some way to help your neighborhood flourish.

Step 1 - Browse the Goods

Below is a list of items that are currently in stock. Counts are very rough estimates and may not be accurate.

Step 2 - Request a Pickup Time

Suggest some times to view and pick up items at our warehouse in Palmyra, PA. You will be responsible for loading and transporting the items you are requesting, unless special arrangements are made. We prefer most requests to be on the order of 1/4 pallet or more. If that’s too much for you, share with some neighbors!

Step 3 - Use It for Good & Share the Story

Projects big or small, so long as they plant seeds of kindness, connection, or care. We’d love to see pictures or hear about what you’re creating! Send us a note or tag us on social media.

Rooted in Community

This initiative grows out of the same spirit as our Community Pledge project, which welcomed 297 neighbors to commit to simple acts of kindness—like picking up litter, greeting someone new, or holding a door. Read about it on Page 5 of the December, 2024 Messenger. That effort reminded us: even in a divided world, we can unite around shared values and meaningful service.

The Sharing Shed continues that work. It’s not just about free stuff—it’s about building a community where generosity grows and where everyone has something to offer.

Let’s keep planting hope—peacefully, simply, together.
