Numbers 12:1,6,8 Miriam and Aaron began to talk against Moses, because of his Cushite wife… When a prophet of the Lord is among you, I reveal myself to him in visions, I speak to him in dreams… With Moses I speak face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the Lord. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
Devotion: Here we see Miriam and Aaron gossiping about Moses and his wife. Are we any different? Aaron was a chosen priest to serve in the tabernacle, but still was human and sinned. So often we see in the Bible how God uses some of the most blemished people to do his will. David committed adultery, Peter was impetuous and denied Christ three times, Thomas doubted until he felt the nail prints in Jesus hands, Rahab was a prostitute, but was spared when she hid the spies sent into the city by Joshua.
The Bible doesn’t pull any punches when it shows our sinful condition. The Good News is God extends to us His Grace and Mercy. So take your mixed up, sinful lives to God and he will not only show you mercy, but use you for his divine will, no matter what you have done.
Prayer: Lord, Have mercy on us, sinners all! Thank you for your divine grace, use us to perfect your will here on earth and in Heaven. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
